Gold Bluffs Beach

This is a beautiful location, with the campsite on the beach, and the redwoods behind us. We slept to the sound of waves, and awoke to the sound of waves.

At dawn, as we walked along the silent, isolated beach, it felt like we were in a world of our own, perhaps in an impressionist painting. We were in a different space, protected by the thick blanket of fog that formed the frame of the painting.

At sunset, we sat and watched the pelicans, seals, and dolphins grab their catch for dinner, curiously peeking at us every once in a while. We watched the sun set, and the sky turn pink, then purple, as the wildlife, now stuffed and happy, return to their nests for the night.
